I thought about what I would say. On Friday I went to pick him up. On the drive over I worked it down to a simple question. But when I got to the door of the school I just knew it wouldn't come out. I said "Hi," to the teachers and another mother. I think I paused for a moment but I didn't say anything. Then we left and drove home.
